Exciting! (Week 9)

Hey!
This week is Big Bang week!
We received ticket invitation to Big Bang's ATOZ exhibition because Belle couldn't stop shopping in 8". They gave out free tickets to the exhibition with every purchase of any GD collaboration products.

We decided to go over to the exhibition on Wednesday because it was ending in October. Why not, since we are in Korea!
ATOZ is all about Big Bang's 10th year anniversary. The station name is "Seongsu", where we have to walk for about 5 minutes before reaching the location. It wasn't very hard to find but it sure was inside the rows and rows of buildings.
Big Bang specially put up the exhibition to show thanks to their fans. They designed the look and feel of the exhibition, designing several of the art pieces that were hung on the wall.

Video and DSLR cameras were strictly prohibited BUT THANK GOD FOR 20.7 MEGAPIXEL PHONES!

Say no more. Let the pictures speak for themselves.

Welcome to ATOZ!

There are just so many more photos we don't know which one to choose. If you want to see them, do let us know! We'll be more than happy to share what we took with you!!

Also, that week, Belle went to cut her hair.
It was growing out and she decided to go to this shop down the street.
Thankfully, they spoke English.
LOOK AT THIS SUPER ATAS LOOKING HAIR SALON HAHAHAH

They served drinks while waiting for the hair dye to set in.
Not a funky colour, just a lighter brown.

That's all for this week! All the best for next week!

We tried our best (Week 8)

Hello world.
It's Week 8.
It's our exam week.
We only have one in-class exam, Psychology.
MIS, IBA and IB are all take home exams.
Finance does not have any exam.
In which, our exams. They end on TUESDAY!

No, it is not the end of our never ending homework.
We have presentations and case studies to write.

Anyway, for the entire week, we stayed in our dorm, sleeping and getting back our sleep and chill after the mid terms.

BUT I WENT TO DONG DAE MUN (DDM) WITH MY ROOMMATE!
Belle is the only one sharing a room with a foreigner. Her room mate is from Netherlands and her name is Amall.
She's super nice.
Anyway, we went over and splurged our money on everything and anything we see.
DDM is like Bugis street, in shopping mall versions.
It was crazy.

WHY IS HE EVERYWHERE

After DDM, we went to MyeongDong to visit the new 8" shop that wasn't opened back in week 3.
It was crazy. There was just so many GD things we couldn't hold back.
There were also gifts available when we purchase over a said amount:
50,000Won - GD postcard set
80,000Won - GD standee
100,000Won - GD Diary

In which, I have both the postcard set and standee.
(I'm not a Kpop fan)

This is in one of the smaller 8" shop where there is a "basement" with the entire floor dedicated to GD's collaboration. It was crazy!
GD EVERYWHERE!!!!

All the 8" and GD collaboration bags we brought back to our dorm.
We bought so much clothes we had to do our laundry in the middle of the night so we can have the entire laundry area to ourselves.

Here are some photos of us together

We shopped till our hands could not hold on to the bags anymore. There was just so many things to carry, our hands lost feeling half way through HAHAHA.
It was really crazy. We were supposed to go to Hongdae and Insadong the next day but our legs just gave up on us so we decided to do it another day instead.

That's all for this week!
All the best for the new week!

Stu-Dying (Week 7)

Hello Hello everyone.
Week 7 is a busy week for us because we have mid-terms next week.
We received 2 of our tests and are preparing for them.

We were also informed by our friends that school starts next week. We hope everyone is(n't) looking forward to class. Ahaha.
Let's all do our best together!

Anyway, we met up with LiLing! She came to Korea for a trip and had free time that Saturday so we planned and met up with her!
It was just so crazy. We met LiLing at her hotel before walking all the way to MyeongDong(MD) to meet up with Alex and Debbie.

It is nice to be able to spend time with friends afterall.
Staying 24/7 up in the mountains is just.... hahaha

Here are some of the things we saw along the way to Li Ling's hotel........

Why is there an IV drip on the... tree?
Send me sambal stingray. Over.

After meeting up, we walked to MD. We walked pass quite a number of cool(?) looking locations. They were quite amusing.

Ladder in the middle of...??

Animals in the middle of...??????

Peeking boy!

There was this shop across of Uniqlo in MD that was still building when we last visited in week 3. It was finally opened and we decided to visit it!

BB Lip Balm
Another Line store!

We finally got the chance to try the famous Cheesy ribs! The one where you have to dip and turnturnturn the cheese around. Oh, the word is "wrap".
It was super delicious and we could even choose the level of spicyness! Of course, we went for the lowest number (ahahahaha, never again.)
Duffy and Shelly May!!!
We met up with Debbie in the restaurant for lunchie!

We then walked around MD and did some shopping before meeting up with Alex and his friend.

It was just like a never ending shopping sensation whenever we are in Myeong Dong, even though we've been there so many times. So many times? Haha!

It feels like we've visited MD more than 10 times but we didn't.
There is just so many things to do in MD

When evening came, we said goodbye to Debbie and Alex as they went back to their dorm for dinner.
We decided to have dinner with LiLing and after walking around aimlessly not knowing what to eat, we chanced upon this store which sold Army Stew.

It is like hot pot.
The ingredients are just dumped inside and the lid goes on top. It has cabbage, more vegetables, ramen, hotdog, meat inside. Thinking about it makes me hungry.

It is a very large pot and we were so close to finishing it. It was enough for 4 of us.
There after, we brought LiLing to DongDaeMun to meet up with her family members before saying goodbye
;___;

We miss our classmates very much and it is very exciting to think about the new semester with our classmates when we return to NYP.

Here are some of the group photos we took!

Thank you for spending your free time with us!
We can't wait to say hello back in Singapore again.

All the best to everyone and good luck!

Happenings (Week 6)

Week 6 is a very interesting week for all students in Hallym University. It is the week where there is the Hallym Festival!

Hallym Festival is a two-day school event where their students put up performances. They transformed their dance corner into a clubbing room which we saw from the outside when we were walking from our dorm to the main stage. It was really cute and a great idea. We couldn't stop giggling when we saw it.

The main stage had games for the audience during the afternoon. The games were in Korean but we didn't had to take part in all of them. The first one we saw was "True or False". The Emcee says a question and the players are to move left or right to answer. The players were given about five seconds to make their decision before time was up. It looked really fun!
The last player standing was the winner. They were giving out CGV movie tickets!

The next game we watched was "Guess that song". Players have to answer with the song's name and artist name.
It was really awesome and we were just staring at everyone with our eyes and mouth wide open.
The song wasn't even played for a full second and you get people mad screaming at the Emcee to answer the question.
There was this one song, where it was just a note. Like a piano note. "Deng". A bunch of the girls just started screaming and answering the questions. It was mad crazy. We were like "What is going on, how do they even do this?"
But it was really interesting.

Their principal

During the festival, there was also an international booth where students had games from their home country. We played Korean games like put the ring into the bottle, Korean Chapteh, Pick up sticks, Tongue twisters in Korean(Kirin Kurin Kirin Kurimu? It sounds something like this), five stones!

Here are some photos!
Belle is gone. Like the shadow.

That's our buddy Hyun Min! We finally have a photo with her!

During the festival, we had the opportunity to try Chicken heart. It sounds weird but the moment we popped one into our mouths, we couldn't stop.
One stick is enough. It has too much cholesterol.

There after, the next day, Belle and Shi Jia went to Insadong with the other NYP mates from SBM!

Say hello

We rented a Hanbok and entered the palace FOR FREE!
Everyone wearing a Hanbok gets to enter the palace for free!
The hanbok we rented was at 19,000 Won for 2 hours. I know. But it's worth it for the free entrance HAHAH.

Here's a picture of us in our Hanbok!
It's really comfy to wear.
How I wish I have an Oppa to take me away into the Korean Drama scene.

Anyway, the palace was BEAUTIFUL. Let me enlarge it's beauty for you.

Emperor's seat?
The mountain and Palace together is just ohmygod

After the 2 hours was up, we walked to Anguk station, which was just one station away only.
They sold lots of souvenirs there.
There was also this round-about shopping centre we went to. It was really cute. You could just go to the second floor and keep walking along the shops. It's designed to bring you to the next level as you walk along. Great for lazy people.

Poop cafe!

At the cafe, we had Oreo bingsu and Chocolate ice cream.
There was poop everywhere. Fake poop.
Even the plate that came with the waffle was shaped like a toilet bowl.

The bingsu was a little too over priced for it's taste.

hmmm.

We came across this tea cafe-shop called Osulloc. Their packaging were so beautiful and oh my goodness.
Don't you just want to buy them for the pretty packaging?

They have a cafe on the second floor where they served green tea drinks!

Alright, that's all we have to share for week 6.

The mid terms are coming out the next week and we are very anxious for our mid term tests that are in week 8.
We hope everything will be well.

All the best and good luck!

Train to Busan (Week 5)

Warning, long post ahead.
Hello hello hello everyone!
As you (might or might not have) know, we have Friday off.
Again, We had the weekend WITH Monday off and again, we didn't want to spend all of it up in the mountains.
We went to Busan!

Ocean!

Yes, we survived the train to Busan.

We were there from 30th September to 3rd October (4 days).

Why Busan?
We just wanted to try, you know, the zombies.

Just kidding. No, really, we were expecting zombies.

Anyway, when we touched down, we lugged our bags around the Jalgachi fish market.

We have no idea what some of the seafood that are on sale is. We just know that they have a lot of seafood in Busan.

lot is probably an understatement. The market was just right in front (or behind) a huge sea, which they probably caught their seafood from.
It's definitely the freshest seafood you'll ever get.

They display their fresh fishes on flat baskets, lined out in a heap, selling per bunch. Their octopuses are sold upside down, with their tentacles opened. It was weird but really pretty.

When we walked further down, we came across the dry section of the market where they sold vegetables and fruits. Like Melons, persimmon, broccoli, pumpkin and more.

There was also this other side where they sold dried fish and spicy sauce. Their dried fishes ranges from size. Unlike Singapore's, their silver fishes are medium sized (and super delicious) and can be as small as the ones we fry and eat with our porridge. It was really interesting to see so many different size!

There were shops that sold the spicy Korean sauce, they were super red and when the Ajuma opened the pot, oh the smell of the spiciness!

After that, we went to Lotte Mall, which is only a road away from the fish market.

13 floors guys. 13.

What is Lotte Mall?

It's basically our Ngee Ann City, or rather, Takashimaya. If you havn't been to Takashimaya, then it's like the Isetan in Orchard. They sell food on the lowest floor, ranging from Chocolates to sweets to Noodles for lunch. In which, we ate noodles for lunch there aha.

The shops there weren't very different from the ones we have in the two malls mentioned above. But their cake shops, goodness me, we don't have these in Singapore! Their cakes are very beautifully decorated. We think they're local bakeries.

Also, in Lotte Mall, there's an aqua show where the water falls from the ceiling of the mall to the bottom, in sync with the music!

It was really magical and beautiful. We didn't know of the show until it started. Luckily, we managed to find a seat on the second floor, just outside the Line Shop.

Yeah, we kinda chanced upon the Aquatique show while shopping.

It was really nice and felt that it was a great family bonding time. Families brought their children to the mall to enjoy the shopping and stopped to watch the show with their children.
The children liked it too!
One little girl on the seat beside us was going ":( it ended" or something.

Here is a photo of us at Busan tower.
We're very ready to tackle all the towers in Korea.

The tower is less popular than Seoul tower, and much smaller in space. However, we felt it was enough to view all of Busan. We could see the two bridges, in which we visited one of them on the next day!

The night view from the tower was just too eye catching. The glowing lights from the shops reminded us of Singapore.

Rows and rows of street lights lit up the night scene like stars in the sky.

There after, we went back to the shopping district to look at their stores and then back to our Hotel for the day.

The next day, we went to the Aquarium.
We just wanted to be as tourist-y as we could. I mean, going to Busan from Seoul probably costs a kidney. The trip to Busan was expensive, but was totally worth it. We got to experience the beach and the feeling was just really different from what we had in Singapore.

Anyway, back to the Aquarium. Like Sentosa, it's situated just right in front of a beach.

Here are some of the animals we saw in the Aquarium. Axyotol, the image on the left, is called a Mexican Salamander. It's the closest little creature we have to a dragon. They're cute.
snuggle time!
The one on the right are Jackass penguins. It was really hard to take pictures of them as their "land" was really above our eye level. We had to join the little children in climbing on to the ledge to get a better view of them. Ha.

The sea turtles on the right were on quarantine and they. are. huge. They were brought back from the sea to be monitored so they can be re-released!

._. dont you just want to sambal this stingray?
Please Fedex sambal stingray over for us. With lots of love and appreciation.

After the aquarium trip, we went to the beach just outside.

Belle and her stingray.
She wanted sambal stingray so bad
she bought a stingray (lol)
Here's a picture of Belle and Shi Jia ontop of a sand heap and Liang Jing being the photographer.

The beach was really clean and litter free, or at least the area we were in was litter free.
The sand threatened to enter our shoes but we were alright with it. It was all about fun in Busan.

here's a Singray :D

After that, it was starting to get dark so we decided to head back to our hotel for the day.

We slept that night, thinking about sambal stingray and satay.

On the 3rd day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, K pop idols in Bexco expo hall.
Haha, yeah.

Okay, so Bexco is like our Expo Hall. They have different halls and different exhibitions available. When we went, it so happened to be showcasing K-Pop things. They had a walk in gallery of artist's pictures. Idol photo booth (no, there was no Kpop idols), 3D Super Junior concert.

It was funny because we were betting on whether we needed a ticket to enter the convention. SO, like the tourists we are, we *ahem* watched as other people entered the hall. When it felt like we didn't had to get any tickets, we walked right in

and got stopped by the door man. haha.
But just before we turned around and laughed at our silliness, a man handed us the supposed ticket(?) and asked us to enter the convention. It was a sample pack of face essence. Yeah, that was the ticket.
So we were like "Kamsahamnida" and entered the convention ahahaha, it was a great experience.

Say no more. We know you're excited. Let the pictures speak for themselves.

We probably entered this convention ahaha

You see those people queuing up on the last photo? They are probably waiting for SE7EN to arrive. When we left, they were entering row by row. They must be excited to meet their oppas.

After that, we went opposite to the mall to take a break from all the walking. We ate Dunkin Donuts. They had pac-man donuts on sale and their hot drinks come with pac-man caps.

Ahhh, cute.

We also visited another beach, on the other side of Busan. This time, we bought some firecrackers to put out! They were selling them at the near by convenience store and thought, it wouldn't hurt to buy some to pop.

We HAD to celebrate the end of Summer!
There after, Autumn will come and the wind will start to turn cold.
Summer 2016 will never come by again and this is the time I want to remember what we did together. The next summer wouldn't be the same as the one we had that day. ;__;
